Watercolor Paintings of Peranakan Shophouses

I have been painting the shophouses in watercolour since about slightly more than a year ago, inspired by fellow painters like Woon Lam and Marvin Chew. I am a new member of the Singapore Watercolor Society in around the end of last year too. In order to join the membership, I have to submit 3 pcs of paintings in half sheets (22″ X 15″). It wasn’t then that I started to paint larger than quarter sheets. The paintings posted below are all painted in quarter sheets except the last one. I used to be intimidated with painting big but I am actually getting the hang of it. I am also experimenting with different types of support.
